Non Technical Summary
This conference is designed to provide a forum that brings together leading researchers in the diverse area of reproductive sciences from around the world, and to offer both junior and senior scientists opportunities to exchange ideas and develop collaborations. Our overall goal is to illuminate fundamental pathways guiding reproduction function in all animals, including agriculturally relevant species, and foster collaborations between investigators. Specific objectives include 1) To foster the academic, intellectual, and professional development of trainees and junior investigators working in reproductive sciences,2) To bolster the participation and professional development of women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities working in reproductive sciences, and3) To elevate science communication so that diverse audiences can understand the life-changing and often life-saving advances made in reproductive biology research. We anticipate that achieving the conference objectives will lead to new ways of thinking about foundational processes that drive reproductive function in all animals, including domestic livestock, ultimately improving the manner in which reproductive fundtion is managedand expoited for improving the efficiency of food animal production for years to come.

Goals / Objectives
The major goal of the 2024 Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on Mammalian Reproduction is to bring together a diverse and accomplished group of scientists from all over the world to exchange their most recent and cutting-edge research in mammalian reproductive sciences. The conference will begin with a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) specifically led by two young reproductive scientists and focused to enhance the professional development of postdoctoral and graduate student trainees who will participate in this exciting conference. Thus, through complementary and synergistic scientific and professional development programs, the 2024 GRS and GRC on Mammalian Reproduction will promote the following objectives throughout this conference: we will establish a highly positive and non-threatening atmosphere where researchers at all stages of career development and from diverse backgrounds can share their cutting-edge research, gain valuable feedback and expand their professional and academic networks; we are developing a scientific program that will attract the leading and inclusive researchers in basic, agricultural, and clinical reproductive sciences from around the world, including women and under-represented minorities, at all stages of career development; we will support the growth and development of early career scientists from diverse backgrounds in reproductive biology research to fully participate in this conference; and we will expose all participants at this conference to the most cutting-edge and game-changing research developments in reproductive sciences and promote critical and professional discourse from all and especially those with previously less representation to engage openly and honestly about these scientific discoveries and their potential global impact. By completing these major objectives, we will contribute to the current and future development of the field of reproductive scientists where scientist from all backgrounds will be welcomed and succeed in this important scientific area.
Project Methods
The meeting program has been sent for major speakers.Additional short talks will be selected from abstract submissions with a focus on highlighting junior investigators and trainees.Researchers have already begun to apply for attendance, our goal is to include the max 200 scientistsApplicants are invited to submit a bio describing their field of study and an abstract for presentation.Speakers, Discussion leaders, other presenters and attendees will gather in the GRC site in Barcelona July 20-26, 2024 for the 2024 Mammalian Reproduction GRC.

Impacts
What was accomplished under these goals? The Mammalian Reproduction GRC was a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includeda diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference was five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference haddesignated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allowed for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field. The Mammalian Reproduction GRS provideda unique forum for young doctoral and post-doctoral researchers to present their work, discuss new methods, cutting edge ideas, and pre-published data, as well as to build collaborative relationships with their peers. Experienced mentors and trainee moderators facilitated active participation in scientific discussion to allow all attendees to be engaged participants rather than spectators. Attendees had the opportunity discuss their discoveries and vision for the future of reproductive science and health research. The program included an interactive career discussion with panelists from diverse career stages and paths, including academia and industry. This panel aimed to provide insight, offer inspiration, and facilitate network connections with successful investigators. GRC is grateful for the funding provided by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for 19 conference attendees and 19 seminar attendees. The funds were spent in line the goals of the proposal and the conference chairs focused their efforts on providing support for selected participants to attend the 2024 Mammalian Reproduction conference and seminar. At the end of the conference, participants had the opportunity to elect future conference chairs and evaluate the meeting's scientific content, diversity of the program, and overall atmosphere. Feedback collected was extremely positive and future conference chairs will use the community's comments to ensure future iterations of the meeting continue to serve the mission of the organization and the needs of the field. General sentiments expressed included: Scientific content was cutting edge. Speaker pool was engaging. There were ample opportunities for networking between junior and senior scientists, creating a welcoming environment. The Conference Evaluation Committee and GRC Board of Trustees reviews all conference evaluations at the end of the conference season, using feedback provided by the communities to determine which meetings should be approved for future scheduling. Feedback collected during the GRS evaluation was extremely positive. General sentiments expressed included: Poster sessions were interactive and engaging. The environment was respectful and collegial. Speaker pool was engaging.
