Non Technical Summary
This grant was written to go witha nother grant to morph into what is needed for either or. If we did not get one ofthe grants both would be a stand alone but half salried and if we received both we would have a yearly compost manager as half his salary was written into one and the other halfinto the other. They are both differst but compliment each other very good. This will set it up to be a successful Community compostprogram. The last usda grant was mid covid so trying to get employees here in the village was tough. Fortunatly we had an employee who came on board who wanted to make this program the best itcan be and now has community members interested in the program. Also because of the closeness of the programs it would be good if both grantees travel to our village to check out the differences. There are small changes that we will need to address to work out with our project officer such as adding the project manager, changing our Executive Director for the tribe. We hope this will be a very good role model for the other southeast communities that are thinking about addressing their Food Sovernty and sustainability issues.
