Non Technical Summary
Historically, Fort Drum had some information on some invasive plant species in some locations. Initial survey efforts by NYNHP in 2021 validated a comprehensive installation-wide survey approach. In 2022, invasive plant species surveys will continue to better understand the scope of the problem and target future management efforts. This effort will focus on non-forested landscapes which include, but are not limited to, several invasive species of concern such as (1) black/pale swallow-wort; (2) common buckthorn; (3) honeysuckle; (4) Japanese knotweed; (5) Japanese barberry; and (6) Himalayan balsam.Awarded Start Date: 3/1/2022Spnosor: US Army Installation Management Command
