Nothing Reported How have the results been disseminated to communities of interest?A poster was presented at the 2017 Caribbean Food Crops Society annual meeting in San Juan, PR depicting the programs and services provided by the Research Office of the AES, including the administration of Hatch projects. What do you plan to do during the next reporting period to accomplish the goals? Nothing Reported

Impacts
What was accomplished under these goals? Through this project the University of Puerto Rico Agricultural Experiment Station (UPR-AES) coordinated the work and activities of all the Hatch projects administered by the institution. During this five-year period the UPR-AES administered an average of 47 Hatch projects each year and initiated an average of 11 projects yearly. New projects included internal competitive grants, seed grants for new researchers, and several "signature projects" aimed at developing new commodities of interest to stakeholders and with great economic potential. These latter initiatives were also expected to increase the visibility of the UPR-AES to the general public.

Through this project the University of Puerto Rico Agricultural Experiment Station (UPR-AES) coordinates the work and activities of all the Hatch projects administered by the institution. During FY2020 the UPR-AES administered over 45 Hatch projects. A new competitive call for proposals was launched during the year but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the selected projects were scheduled to begin in January 2021. Many Hatch projects that were terminating in 2020 and had been affected during the past four years by the combined effect of Hurricane Maria, the 2020 earthquakes and the operations close-down decreed during the pandemic, were granted a one year extension by our Dean and Director. These extensions were submitted for NPL approval through the REEport project change module. A renewal of this project proposal was also submitted through REEport's project initiation module before its scheduled termination date.
