Goals / Objectives
Implement a centrally a child and domestic abuse severity scaling system to across the Military Services.Determine the current web-based algorithm is usable for initial Service-wide implementation.Design and develop several web-based trainings that support 1) an introduction to the severity scales, 2) an implementation training for the FAP clinical staff and clinical supervisors through whom the severity scales will be implemented, and 3) a training focused on providing clinical supervisors with the tools necessary to support clinical staff.
Project Methods
The methods involve the transfer of the rating scale algorithm to a web-based system. This involves the development of decision tree statements that are address through the completion of the seversity scale form. In the development of the training involves video production as will as the use of interactive learning-based technology.

Progress 09/01/13 to 08/31/18

Outputs
Target Audience:The target audience is FAP staff and managers. Changes/Problems: Nothing Reported What opportunities for training and professional development has the project provided?Asysnchrous learning products have been completed and are on the appropriate LMS for each Service. How have the results been disseminated to communities of interest? The program managers of each Service and OSD were full briefed and have participated in the trainings. What do you plan to do during the next reporting period to accomplish the goals? Nothing Reported

Impacts
What was accomplished under these goals? Goal one is 100% completed. The Severity Scales is a service-wide project that focuses on the development of a web-based scale algorithm that provides reliability and objectivity in determining the severity level of a child or domestic abuse incident. This program enhances the capabilities of more than 900 clinicians across the services. The products for this program includes custom learning solutions such as online modules, FAQs, 128 explanation/descriptions of Severity Scale questions in video format, website, and 24/7 coaching to serve the clinicians across the services. Goal two was beta tested this year and is currently being rolled out as a part of training for goal one. Goal three is 100% complete and is currently rolling out. The Commanders & Leaders project's purpose is to develop Service-wide, web-based Family Advocacy Program learning materials to support the requirement for commanders and senior enlisted leaders to receive training on understanding, preventing, and responding to child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse within 90 days of taking command (DoDM 6400.01 Vol 1, PS 56). To this end, web-based learning solutions have been created using a human-centered design approach based on guidance by FAP Managers, FAP clinicians and commanders/leaders across the Services. In addition user testing and field testing by commanders provided insight on the nuances in language/tone, completion time, and plausibility of content. In essence, these tests provided a "context in use" that provided significant feedback that enhanced both learning solutions

Target Audience:The target audience is DoD and Service-level Family Advocacy Program project managers as well as installation-level FAP staff. Changes/Problems: Nothing Reported What opportunities for training and professional development has the project provided? The online severity scales reporting tool training is a computer-based asyncrohous training for FAP staff at all level. It has been beta tested, refined, then piloted. Full roll out of the training is slated for October 2015. How have the results been disseminated to communities of interest? The full rollout of the training and the reporting tool is slated for October 2015. A technical assistance infrastructure has been estblished for continuous quality improvement. What do you plan to do during the next reporting period to accomplish the goals? The full roll out should bring some unexpect trouble shooting and lead to some new support materials. Thus, establishing a continuous quality iimprovement system is our focus for this coming year.

      Impacts
What was accomplished under these goals? Severity Scale system is developed and is currently being implemented. Goals 1 and 2 are complete. Goal 3 is currently being address.
