Non Technical Summary
The Forest Practices Adaptive Management Program's Cooperative Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Committee (CMER) needs to have an independent review process for evaluating research designs and research and monitoring reports that may be used in support of future forest practices rule changes or the creation of new rules. This project is a continuation of an Independent Scientific Peer Review program that will manage and facilitate scientific review for the CMER.

Goals / Objectives
The Forest Practices Adaptive Management Program's Cooperative Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Committee (CMER) needs to have an independent review process for evaluating research designs and research and monitoring reports that may be used in support of future forest practices rule changes or the creation of new rules. This project continues an Independent Scientific Review program that will manage and facilitate scientific review for CMER.The previous time period of this project was reported in REEport on Project Number WNZ-1142, Accession Number 202893.
Project Methods
1. Obtain a prospective list of Fiscal Year 2014 projects from the Forest Practices Adaptive Management Program's Cooperative Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Committee (CMER) to identify and prioritize subject areas needing support; there are potentially 14 one-stage final reports and two two-stage final reports for review by the Independent Scientific Peer Review program (ISPR), also known as Scientific Review Committee, SRC, at the University of Washington.2. Evaluate existing reviewer guidelines and key questions to identify areas that can be changed or improved from the previous year's approach. This step will be done by the managing editor in conjunction with CMER. Reviewer guidelines will be changed as appropriate following the evaluation.3. Provide scientific peer review of CMER documents submitted to the University of Washington for that purpose.4. Expand and update the database of potential reviewers created over the past year and a half. Developing a complete and relevant list of reviewers is an on-going process.
