Goals / Objectives
Phenotype peanut germplasm and developed populations for resistance to Pythium pod rot, and identify markers associated with disease resistance.
Project Methods
Single-seed descent-derived peanut accessions from the U.S. and ICRISAT mini-core collections, as well as recombinant inbred line populations, will be evaluated in the greenhouse for resistance to Pythium pod rot. Markers associated with disease resistance will be identified using genome-wide association studies (GWAS).
