The objective is to model bacterial blight aerobiology and epidemiology.
Project Methods
We will design and construct various air samples and aid in designing and implement sampling protocols at field locations using current knowledge of air turbulence and particle movement. Stationary and mobile particle samplers will be developed that improve ability to detect pathogen movement in air associated with greenhouses. Travel to Ohio and Florida field locations will be to train individuals on sampler deployment and design sampling strategies. We will advise graduate students at Ohio State University and University of Florida on particle sampling and data analyses.
