Goals / Objectives
Objectives 1: Develop and evaluate decision support to estimate best soil health and nutrient management strategies in selected crops based on historical, real-time, and near real-time data. Objective 2: Develop effective tools and systems to identify, map, and site-specifically manage weeds, specifically resistant weeds, using latest technologies such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS), bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and chemical/sprayer technologies.
Project Methods
The research will focus on increasing input efficiency by quantifying the GxExM interactions and identifying the best options for input management in selected crops in the agro-ecosystems of Northern Plains. The research will focus of major crops of Northern Plains such as corn, soybean, dry edible beans, and sugarbeet that are important to North Dakota. The systems and tools should lead to improvements in agricultural productivity and agricultural landscape management.
