Goals / Objectives
To evaluate Maize Lethal Necrosis (MLN)resistance and agronomic performance of selected lines for the OH1VI and Oh 28 RIL population with potyvirus resistance Quantitative Trait Loci, alone and in combination under MLN infection.
Project Methods
Conduct field screening of lines with potyvirus resistance under natural infection in areas with high disease pressure in Tanzania and through artificial inoculation at the Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization(KARLO)/International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center(CYMMIT) Naivasha screening site in Kenya.
