Goals / Objectives
1. Provide support for the development of natural resources database efforts as part of efforts to support the Long-term Agroecological Research Program (LTAR). 2. Provide support for data integration into database which would support data acquisition, GIS data, research data from different scales, research metadata. 3. Provide support to utilize the ARCGIS server based systems for data acrhival. 4. Enhance data visualiation tools for entering, screening, and dispalying data. 5. Develop spatio-temporal analytical tools for natural resources to address big data efforts linked with LTAR.
Project Methods
This effort supports the facilitation of the on-going development and implementation of data acquisition from a range of scales from plot, field, to watershed from agronomic and watershed experiments. This effort incorporates the ongoing efforts across the Conservation Effects Assessment Program (CEAP), Resilient Economic Agricultural Practices (REAP), Ameriflux, and LTAR to develop integrated databases for the assessment of impacts on natural resources (soil, water, and air) across multiple scales by using geospatial data linked with observational data from different scales. Evaluate statistical tools for downscaling and upscaling natural resource data using a variety of data sources including ground-based and remote sensing observations.
