Goals / Objectives
Establish the phylogenetic relationships of the early diverging Zygomycete lineages using nuclear rDNA ITS + LSU rDNA markers and whole genome sequencing. Perform barcode sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. Approximately 3,000-3,500 zygomycetous strains in the ARS Culture Collection (NRRL) will be barcoded, using ribosomal DNA sequence data.

Project Methods
PCR and sequencing of ITS + LSU rDNA amplicons from individual cultures of NRRL strains that are from the Zygomycete lineages.
