Goals / Objectives
Generate RNA interference transformed peanuts using African varieties commonly grown in Malawi, using molecular constructs developed at the National Peanut Research Laboratory (NPRL).
Project Methods
Graduate students and scientists from Kenyatta University will be trained at the NPRL on the method to transform peanut. The actual transformation of African cultivars will be done in Kenya to speed up the process of getting improved cultivars to local farmers.
