Outputs
Progress Report Objectives (from AD-416): Collect and distribute the papers from the 21st Century Watershed Technology conference to allow widespread distribution of the work. A CD- ROM of the anticipated 100 plus full-text papers will be prepared and distributed to attendees. The full-text papers will be processed for inclusion in the ASABE online technical library providing researchers and others. Approach (from AD-416): Support funding an international scientific conference on issues related to world's water quality and quantity. This agreement was to transfer funds to the American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE) Workshop entitled 21st Century Watershed Technology Conference and Workshops: Improving Water Quality and the Environment held in May 2012 in Bari, Italy. The funds were to support this conference and were used to underwrite the cost associated with registration fees for students, graduate students and post-doctoral research associates. Specifically, the costs included daily transportation from local hotels to the conference, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, networking reception, proceedings expenses, and a percentage of the cost associated with equipment rental of poster boards, tables and chairs, audio visual and room fees. The goal of ARS and ASABE for the financial support of this conference was to entice student participation from around the world with a nominal registration fee for their involvement and participation in this workshop.
