Project Methods
The 12th International Congress on Andean Crops (CICA DOCE) will take place in Quito, Ecuador July 24-27, 2006. Oral and poster presentations will cover many topics, including conservation of genetic resources, plant breeding, production, human nutrition, marketing and policy issues.

Approach (from AD-416) The 12th International Congress on Andean Crops (CICA DOCE) took place in Quito, Ecuador July 24-27, 2006. Oral and poster presentations covered many topics, including conservation of genetic resources, plant breeding, production, human nutrition, marketing and policy issues. Significant Activities that Support Special Target Populations This report documents research conducted under a grant from ARS to CORPOINIAP in Quito, Ecuador. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent project 1275-21000-162-00D, "Exchange of crop genetic resources and associated documentation for the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System. This grant supported the 12th International Congress on Andean Crops (CICA DOCE), which was held in Quito, Ecuador July 24 �28, 2006. Presentations covered the conservation and use of Andean crops, as well as the international exchange of crop genetic resources. Monitoring of the project was accomplished through email and reports of attending scientists.
