Goals / Objectives
The ARD's 15th Biennial Research Symposium will be held in Atlanta, GA from March 28 to April 1, 2009. The theme of this conference is "1890 Research: Sustainable Solutions for the 21st Century". The main goal of this collaborative event is to provide its membership with a forum for interactions, knowledge sharing, building networks for expanded partnerships, and to showcase the talents and achievements of the 1890 community. The Association expects to repeat the success of its 2006 Symposium which engaged 633 registrants.
Project Methods
The conference is comprised of exciting and informative sessions and competitive research events for all faculty and students in attendance. This event requires support from its membership through registration fees as well as sponsorship from several organizations, including federal agencies such as USDA CSREES. The ARD is requesting financial support to enhance the activities that this event provides to participating faculty and students.

OUTPUTS: The ARD's 15th Biennial Research Symposium was held in Atlanta, GA. The theme was "1890 Research: Sustainable Solutions for the 21st Century". The main goal of this collaborative event was to provide its membership with a forum for interactions, knowledge sharing, building networks for expanded partnerships, and to showcase the talents and achievements of the 1890 community. The Association exceeded expectations of repeating the success of its 2006 Symposium. There were over 800 participants. PARTICIPANTS: Not relevant to this project.
