CSREES 383511, Menalled, Fabian; Montana State University; An electronic, Multi-Entry Key for Identifying Weedy Plant Species in Small Grain Fields; $54,262. PARTICIPANTS: R.S. Melnicoe, P.I. as Director of the Western IPM Center oversaw the management of the grant, assisted the Grants Panel Manager and managed the relevancy review panel with the assistance of the grants panel manager. F.G. Zalom, Grants Panel Manager assisted in development of the RFA, selection of technical reviewers, conduct of the technical review session and recommendations to USDA-CSREES for funding. The grants manager notified applicants of receipt of applications and the outcome of the review. Both participants provided guidance to potential applicants and positive feedback to all applicants. TARGET AUDIENCES: Not relevant to this project. PROJECT MODIFICATIONS: Not relevant to this project.
Impacts The goal of the Western Regional IPM Grants Program is to further research IPM tactics that are relevant to the West. Further, extension of these tactics is a component of research, research/extension and extension only grants. All of the above projects had stakeholder involvement in determining the need. Since this grant only required management of the granting process, no outcomes or impacts resulted.
