Non Technical Summary
CSREES and the land grant system need a repository for IPM reports and statistics beyond what is captured in other systems. The proposed system will capture and store annual reports from IPM Coordinators and link the information with other systems and an inter-agency reporting system

Goals / Objectives
The following objectives were developed in consultation with the IPM state coordinators and CSREES over a number of years dating back to pre-2000. A. To continue development and implementation of a secure online planning and reporting system for IPM and PSEP state coordinators, in a manner consistent with changes in the IPM and PSEP evolving program requirements. B. To maintain plans of work and progress reports submitted to IPM/PPRS in a searchable online database available to all stakeholders. C. To continue development and implementation of an administrative back-end that allows CSREES full control over the system, including adding/editing objectives and progress measures D. To develop and maintain a contacts database that includes the state personnel involved, their contact information, and responsibilities. E. To provide a secure method for state coordinators to report success stories at any time and to make those stories publicly available on the PPRS website.
Project Methods
A. CIPM will continue to develop, evaluate and manage a complex web-based application and database to serve plans of work and progress reports of the IPM and PSEP/PPRS. This includes the following: 2 a. New database design and functionality that emphasizes impacts rather than numbers. b. Administrative sections where 1) university administrative representatives can approve Plans of Work and Annual Reports prior to submission and 2) CSREES reviewers can perform a quality review of submitted Plans of Work and Annual Reports, c. During this 3-year period, a new planning cycle will be established, requiring new data structures, as yet undefined by CSREES, but which will require coordination with individuals developing new metrics for IPM impact measures. B. CIPM will continue to make changes in the publicly viewable area of the website, http://www.PPRS.info, as recommended in reviews and requested by CSREES. This will include modifications in wording and additional instructions to coordinators in the reporting sections. C. CIPM will maintain a secure back-end that allows CSREES personnel to establish new criteria for additional planning cycles and changes in the reporting criteria and metrics. CIPM will also provide additional internal analysis and reporting tools as requested. D. The contacts database is used in conjunction with the PPRS, but also provides stand-alone public and secure access to the data. Applications to dynamically and remotely generate personnel directories, targeted email, and mailing labels for internal CSREES use will be refined as requested by CSREES. E. CIPM will make key data elements available to the Interagency Reporting Database that will soon include research and extension support from the IPM Centers, SARE and the EPA Sustainable Agriculture Initiative on the www.IPM.gov website.

Progress 09/15/08 to 09/14/09

Outputs
OUTPUTS: Success Stories from state IPM Coordinators are linked from www.ipmcenters.org, and searchable at www.pprs.info/IPM/index.cfm. These stories are 'print-ready', and include both CSREES and institutional logos. PPRS now has a web-service to dynamically report results to the Interagency IPM Reporting System PARTICIPANTS: All state IPM Coordinators report through this system. TARGET AUDIENCES: The audience is primarily state IPM experts and federal officials seeking information on project funding and results in IPM PROJECT MODIFICATIONS: Added dynamic linkage capabilities to the Interagency IPM Database at projects.ipm.gov

Impacts
All IPM reports and success stories are available publicly at www.pprs.info/IPM/index.cfm. In addition, the information can be dynamically sent to the new Interagency IPM Projects database. All that is required is CSREES approval on a per-project basis.

Progress 09/15/07 to 09/14/08

Outputs
OUTPUTS: In addition to continuing development and implementation of the PPRS for IPM and PSEP state coordinators, we have added to the system: 1. A success story section that allows coordinators to add success stories/ major accomplishments for their state at anytime. These stories can be searched publicly and are formatted with the CSREES logo and the land-grant university's logo. the stories allow for images, and can be edited/updated by the author at any time 2. The system now communicates via web services with the interagency IPM database (http://projects.ipm.gov) and adds the IPM state reports to that database. PARTICIPANTS: Not relevant to this project. TARGET AUDIENCES: Not relevant to this project. PROJECT MODIFICATIONS: Not relevant to this project.

Impacts
Stakeholders now have easy and direct access to the latest state IPM reports These reports are now also available through projects.ipm.gov
