Non Technical Summary
There are many forces at work - chemical, biological and other - that are harmful to the Great Lakes Ecosystem. Many researchers are working independently on some of these problems. Our intention is to bring together the expertise and knowledge of scientists and students in the Great Lakes Basin in collaborative research projects, and other venues where information is disseminated and exchanged.

Goals / Objectives
To facillitate collaborative efforts in research and education in the Great Lakes basin between 17 New York colleges and universities. To disseminate information to the public.
Project Methods
We will accomplish our three pronged goal of research, education and dissemination of information using the Great Lakes Research Consortium Small Grants Program, our publications, including the Great Lakes Research Review, the Report, the Directory of Participants, and the monthly email newsletter, and our annual Seminar Series as well as working closely with our campus representatives and our Board of Governors. We will continue our lobbying efforts in Albany and Washington in order to bring in the funding necessary to continue our programs.
