Provide education on ornamental crop production and management, and landscaping design to students ranging from certificate to degree programs.
Project Methods
Develop outdoor educational and training facility to provide experience to individuals desiring more educationin the area of ornamental, greenhouse, and landscape management. Offer classroom and lab training exercises and hands-on training.

Outputs
This project was carried out to develop a horticultural training and development program, the Green Indistries Institute. This is the termination report with a summary of activities and dates of completion for those activities. The Green Indistries Institute program is operational and serving the stakeholders. The key completed activities under this project were: August 1 to December 31, 2001: Secured initial staffing; Initial vocational horticulture program development in cooperation with Jefferson County High School; Establishment of Steering Council membership; and, Community presentations to promote Green Industries Institute development. January 2 to December 31, 2002: Center signage installed; Purchased office and classroom furniture/equipment; Planned and completed initial phases of container growing and tree production support area; Purchased and leased equipment to support center operations; Repaired outdoor equipment and storage areas; Repaired existing growing equipment; Establish internal networking system; Two (2) degree programs developed and approved; First annual industry survey completed in September 2002; Established professional partnership with Florida Nurserymen and Growers Association; Planning, development and initial construction of website; Conducted initial credit courses to support degree programs. January 6 to December 31, 2003: Completed master site plan completed June 2003; Established eleven (11) articulation agreements with regional high school and technical centers; Developed fifteen (15) career certificates and conducted courses to support; Developed fifteen (15) continuing education courses and delivered online or by correspondence; Conducted seven (7) onsite seminars; Began purchase of materials to support library reference and classroom training activities; Completed development of functional website supporting activities and programs of GII; Developed online registration process; Established professional online presence; Developed newsletter to promote activities and courses; distributed to over 3500 people

Impacts
The Green Indistries Institute will serve the green industries and horticultural allied industries with training and education on horticulture. The training will raise the level of knowledge in the horticultural industry.
