Goals / Objectives
Coordination of the USDA SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) program for the 15 states of the N/E Region. Each agreement supports approximately 16 Research and Extension projects (including projects of USDA/EPA Agriculture in Concert with the Environment, ACE) and approximately 40 farmer projects. Project Methods
Send out calls for proposals. Assemble Technical Committee to review proposals. Convene Administrative Council, which selects projects and sets regional policy. Product annual report and other materials for distribution of program results.

Administer USDA SARE Program for the Northeast Region Coordination of the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program for the 12 States in the Northeast Region. Send out calls for proposals, assembled Committees to review proposals and provide guidance. Publish newsletter, INNOVATIONS, and produce other materials for distribution. Oversee contracts with various recipients. Closed out all remaining contracts.

Impacts
Agriculture in the Northeast will be more diversified and profitable, providing healthful products to its customers. It will be conducted by farmers who manage resources wisely, who are satisfied with their lifestyles and have a positive influence on their communities and the environment.
