The mission of the Urban Food Park (the "Farm") is to promote wellness and enrich livesthrough the power of healthy foods and human connection. Our vision is for all people, in everyneighborhood, to have access to the ingredients that create health and wellness.This entrepreneurial project seeks to build upon 10 years of experience teaching children andtheir parents about the importance of nutrient dense food in determining health outcomes. Thisproject engages children in experiential learning about agriculture, gardening, nutrition, cooking,where food comes from, and how to reduce food loss and food waste.The Farm will partner with urban farms and community gardens to provide educational servicesto an underserved urban community via a network schools in multiple school districts throughoutTampa Bay. This project builds capacity to improve nutrition access and food literacy for amarginalized urban population.
