The Renewable Resources Extension Act (RREA) program conducted by the Cooperative Extension Program at Prairie View A&M University focuses on assisting landowners. The program focuses on the following topics and strategic issues identified in the RREA plan: 1. Ensuring Healthy Ecosystems; 2. Enhancing Economic Benefits and 3. Building Capacity Through Enhanced Connections. The Cooperative Extension Program will deliver educational programs and provide landowner assistance through its network of extension agents, subject matter specialist, and by partnering with community based organizations.

Goals / Objectives
To develop unique education projects to address current & emerging renewable energy issues. In order to accomplish this goal we will assist landowners in developing forest management plans to address heirs property, feral hog, and agriculture issues.
Project Methods
In order to accomplish this goal we will assist landowners by conducting workshops and field days for landowners and extension personnel, and conduct one-on-one sitevisits with landowners to develop forest management plans, which will include bee keeping to improve pollination and managing feral hogs.

Target Audience:The primary target audience for this project will be landowners. They will learn about effective land management techniques and best practices to develop and maintain sustainable forestry production and management. Changes/Problems:COVID-19- Social distancing and prohibited from assembling. What opportunities for training and professional development has the project provided?This project has provided opportunities for workshops, trainings, and partnerships with state agencies and CBOs. How have the results been disseminated to communities of interest?These results have been disseminated through electronic methods (email, Facebook, etc.). What do you plan to do during the next reporting period to accomplish the goals?Expand partnerships and include industry organizations to participate.

Impacts
What was accomplished under these goals? This project will provide outreach and assistance to 300-500 landowners across the state of Texas over the next three years. These landowners will be provided with education and training on developing and implementing forest management plans, increasing their income through Agroforestry production and management practices, and controlling and managing feral hog and other invasive species. They will also learn about estate planning and heirs property and how they can maintain control of their land and increase generational wealth.
