Goals / Objectives
Identify strategic research initiatives for agricultural animal health and food safety associated with the prudent use of antibiotics.
Project Methods
The intent of the workshop is to identify gaps in knowledge associated with alternatives to antibiotics. The goal of our research gap analysis is to identify diseases in animal production that will be most affected by the reduction of antibiotic usage in animal production, and discuss/identify alternative antibiotic strategies that will benefit those commodity groups. This information will be useful to identify strategic areas of research for maintaining a healthy and safe food supply for consumers.
