Goals / Objectives
This is a workshop contact with EFSA designed to teach experts at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) about how to conduct and interpret systematic reviews.
Project Methods
3 2-day workshops will be conducted in Parma, Italy to teach EFSA experts about the systematic review process. The project also includes a final report that will describe how EFSA can incorporate the Systematic review methodology into decision making about food-safety in Europe

Outputs
OUTPUTS: The output / deliverables for this project were three workshop trainings about systematic reviews and a report describing the approach to implementing systematic reviews in the European Food Safety Authority workflow. PARTICIPANTS: O'Connor AM- trainer and co-author Lovei GL-- trainer and co-author Eales J-- trainer and co-author Frampton GK-- trainer and co-author Glanville J-- trainer and co-author Pullin AS-- trainer and co-author Sargeant J-- trainer and co-author TARGET AUDIENCES: The target audience for this project were experts who use scientific information to provide advice and opinions to regulator authorities. The workshop and the publications describe how the systematic review process can be used to improve the transparency of the decision making process. PROJECT MODIFICATIONS: no modifications

Impacts
The workshops were attended by over 70 participants and the report was presented at a meeting in Parma and published in Dec 2012.
